Attach enclosed loop to last eye of fishing rod with slipknot. Trim ends.

Extend rod holder, flip up and lock into vertical position. Extend stabilizers on each side.

Attach loop to hook-like trigger. Set trigger as shown. Set tension on triangular knob according to size of fish angler is fishing for.

Place fishing line in Y trigger down into ice hole.

If the trigger system is slipping, you may need to tighten the hook trigger with a #20 torx driver. If it is too tight, the loop will not come off the trigger. The trigger should be just tight enough to hold the striking position. Newer models have two knobs to address this problem.
